Totems TIMOR & PUMBA are a pair of wooden guardians of space who seem to have stepped down from the ancient islands of Indonesia to settle in your living room or bedroom. Their faces are simple and almost naive, but this is their strength - they look like real folk artefacts rather than perfect factory decor.
Each totem is hand carved from balsa wood by craftsmen from Central Java. On the surface you can see the marks of the chisel, natural irregularities and a light "tiredness" of the wood - exactly these details create that wabi-sabi beauty that is so valued in boho interiors. One of the totems is darker, the other is lighter - together they form a balanced duo that is easy to place on a shelf, wooden console or bedside table.
The light natural shade of the wood softly reflects the light, and the graphic carving on the "clothes" adds a subtle ethnic rhythm. The totems look especially expressive next to linen textiles, rough woven rugs, ceramics with matte glaze and worn wooden furniture bases in soft colors.
This is the kind of decor that does not shout about itself but quietly sets the atmosphere - a little mystical, a little fairy tale like, very homely. They work perfectly as an accent in an apartment with boho, ethno, organic modern or wabi-sabi aesthetics and can also become a intimate gift for admirers of travel and handmade pieces.
Each item is created by hand, so small differences in the shade and texture of the wood are possible - this is not a defect but a natural feature of the living material and handmade work.
