The Marrakech rug is a true story from the High Atlas. It is hand woven by Berber craftswomen from thick sheep wool about 30-40 years ago so it belongs to those rare vintage rugs that can no longer be repeated exactly.
The complex pattern combines geometric shapes and abstract symbols in warm mustard, pink, purple, blue and terracotta shades. Natural dyes were used for colouring so the colours stay deep and alive and the rug has that soft slightly faded vintage charm that collectors love.
The dense high pile gives a soft feeling underfoot and the 270x155 cm size lets you use the rug as the main accent in a living room, bedroom, spacious hallway or studio. Marrakech works beautifully in boho, ethnic and eclectic interiors adding colour, texture and a sense of travel to the space.
Each such rug exists in a single piece. Small marks of time and slight irregularities of pile or palette are natural features of vintage wool that highlight the handmade work and the authentic origin of the rug from Morocco.
