The Kapes White lampshade is a cascading pendant chandelier made by hand from dozens of round capiz shell discs. Each disc is thin, semi-translucent and naturally pearlescent, so the light that passes through it feels soft, warm and calm – more like candlelight than a regular bulb. Capiz is a flat, natural shell from marine mollusks. In Indonesia artisans clean it, sun-dry it, sand it smooth and keep its original milky-pearlescent tone without artificial coloring. After that, every shell disc is suspended on fine threads so they fall in layered strands, creating a “sea waterfall” effect.
It looks beautiful over a lounge area, bedside, above a dining table or in a restaurant / boutique space with boho, coastal or organic luxury mood. Even when off, it reads like an art piece. Two height readings: total drop with suspension is about 90 cm, the actual shell curtain is about 60 cm.
