Jaya Macrame is an expressive handcrafted wall decoration from Indonesia, combining deep black cotton with the raw natural character of wood. Its most distinctive feature is the wooden base - a natural branch with an irregular shape, organic curves and knots. This detail gives Jaya an authentic, bold and slightly wild aesthetic.
The knotwork is intentionally more restrained than in traditional multi-layered macrame designs. Dense rows of knots form a striking semicircular pattern at the top, followed by a long free-flowing fringe. The cords retain a naturally irregular texture, giving the piece a relaxed handcrafted character rather than an overly polished appearance.
The contrast between black cotton and light natural wood makes the construction of Jaya especially expressive. A large part of the branch remains visible, allowing its irregular edges and organic shape to become part of the composition itself. This detail gives the macrame a strong connection to nature and reflects the relaxed character of Indonesian-inspired interiors.
At 80 × 70 cm, Jaya works beautifully as an individual wall accent in a living room, bedroom, hallway or lounge area. The black textile looks particularly striking against light, concrete, textured or wooden walls and pairs naturally with solid wood, rattan, woven decor, stone and textiles in earthy tones.
Jaya is handmade, and the natural wooden branch has its own individual shape and texture. Variations in curves, knots, wood tone and other organic details are therefore natural and make every piece unique.
