Ruma Wooden Vase is an expressive handmade interior piece from Indonesia, combining the natural warmth of wood with bold black carving. Its tall cylindrical silhouette and richly detailed ornament give the vase the character of an authentic ethnic art object.
The surface of Ruma is divided into a series of decorative bands. Large spiral motifs alternate with smaller geometric and botanical-inspired elements, creating a beautifully rhythmic composition. Black detailing fills the carved areas and contrasts with the warm natural wood, making every line of the ornament clearly visible.
Ruma becomes even more interesting when viewed up close. The handcrafted surface retains natural texture, subtle irregularities and tonal variations in the wood. Rather than being concealed beneath a uniform finish, these details emphasise the natural material and individual character of the piece.
At 30 cm high, the vase works beautifully as a standalone vertical accent. Place it on a console, chest of drawers, open shelf or side table and style it with dried flowers or decorative branches, or display it empty to let the intricate carving take centre stage.
Ruma is a natural addition to boho, ethnic, Bali-inspired, rustic and eclectic interiors. It pairs especially well with rattan, natural wood, woven decor, textured textiles and accessories in warm earthy tones.
Each vase is handcrafted and individually decorated in Indonesia. Natural variations in the wood grain, colour, carving depth and individual ornamental details are part of its handmade character, making every piece slightly unique.
