The Casablanca rug is made to bring sunshine into the home. It is hand woven by Berber craftswomen in the High Atlas mountains from thick sheep wool about 30-40 years ago so it belongs to true vintage Moroccan rugs that exist only in one piece.
The warm yellow base resembles golden clay and sand and all over the surface there are tiny colourful speckles of turquoise, blue, purple, orange and green. They create the effect of confetti or yarn fragments woven into the high fluffy pile. A subtle central vertical line that slightly divides the rug into two parts highlights the hand weaving and adds depth to the composition.
Casablanca looks extremely cosy and relaxed - a perfect rug for boho, ethnic, desert chic or modern interiors that need a warm accent. The 240x167 cm size allows it to be placed in the living room under the sofa, in the bedroom near the bed or in a spacious hall. The soft wool pile creates a feeling of a home ritual - walking barefoot, drinking coffee on the floor, meditating or playing with children.
Small marks of time, pile height variations and colour asymmetry are natural features of a vintage Moroccan rug. They are not defects but underline the uniqueness of your piece, hand woven and dyed with natural dyes.
